Abstract

¡@¡@The rate of convergence of finite element approximations exceeds the optimal global rate at some exceptional points. This phenomenon is called superconvergence. The so-called "stress point" is one kind of superconvergence point. In the talk, superconvergence points for triangular element, rectangular element, and brick element will be discussed. These points are valid for heat equations, linear elasticity equations, convection-diffusion equations, and many others.
