File transfer: There are several ways to transfer the data files into your GSBMBA account so that you can run SCA or RATS. 1. Copy directly from my GSBMBA directory: Logon to GSBMBA, then copy a specific file as follows: cp /home/rst/gsbmba/d-aa9099.dat d-aa9099.dat 2. Download the file from Web into your PC. Save it as a plain text file. Transfer the file from PC to GSBMBA via ftp. The steps of the second method are as follows: (a) go to the class web http://www.gsb.uchicago.edu/fac/ruey.tsay/teaching/bs41202 (b) click on the file you wish to copy, e.g. d-aa9099.dat (c) save the file into your PC (Assume that you saved the file in c:\windows\desktop directory, using the same file name d-aa9099.dat) (d) Hit the ``run'' command on the ``start'' icon Type in ftp gsbmba.uchicago.edu A windom will appear and you need to logon to gsbmba. You are in the ftp mode on gsbmba. type the command send c:\windows\desktop\d-aa9099.dat type the command quit to exit the ftp. The file d-aa9099.dat is now in your GSBMBA directory.
