| The Minimal Model Program (MMP) in birational geometry is considered as one of the most exciting developments in algebraic geometry. While the generalization of this program to higher dimensions remain far from its completion, it becomes of interest to look at effectivity problems in MMP. Some recent developments will be surveyed, and applications to classical problems will be indicated. |
